The 1000th Model 85 sold, and the 6000th Salsbury scooter sold since 1936 (approximately) - Pomona Facility
The Foster Salsbury box of memorabilia included a thick binder entitled "Salsbury Motors - Scooter Sales Promotion" As head of sales, Foster's job was to line up dealers to sell the Salsbury scooters. This binder included 94 pages of text and pictures that Foster undoubtedly used in his presentations to potential Salsbury scooter dealers. This binder was the 1940s equivalent of a modern day PowerPoint presentation, and provided the history of the company, technical details about the Model 85, and specifics about the dealer program.
Some of the pictures in the binder seem out of order. We nevertheless present the binder in an as-found condition.

The Dealer Network
Salsbury Motors reportedly had a dealer network of approximately 150 dealers across the US and 10 dealers abroad at the time Salsbury Motors filed for bankruptcy in August 1947. Looking at the newspaper ads, Foster signed up all of these dealers in the second half of 1946 and the first seven months of 1947. Looks like Foster did a pretty good job of signing up dealers.
Foster signs up a BIG dealer. An April 13 1946 article in the Honolulu Start Bulletin states that Peter Schubert is signing a contract for 720 Model 85s. Schubert had an organization with 28 dealers in the Hawaiian islands.
